Barasat- The students of Auxilium School Barasat have been eagerly waiting for this day for two salient reasons.
It is the day when we join the whole of FMA world to celebrate the feast of our Mother General, the ninth successor of Mother Mazzarello, the Co- Founder saint of the Salesian Sisters. A feast of gratitude to God for all that has been done to our worldwide Institute, hitherto, with Mother Yvonne Reungoat at its helm.
We have the investiture ceremony of the school office bearers on this day when we honor the great leader of our Salesian FMA world, a day befitting our celebration. Rev. Fr. Franklin Menezes, the Director of Seva Kendra, Kolkatta gave the keynote address on leadership as service taking example from Jesus who knelt down and washed the feet of his disciples before he ate the last supper with them.
In Jesus' scale, to lead meant to serve in humility. Fr. Franklin added that term 'service' defines further as far as it costs of turning the 'I' in the spelling of 'Live' to 'O'. We live to love: loving service to all. He thanked the students for their service in collecting over Rs. 50,000.00 towards the
campaign against Hunger and Disease, a wonderful gesture of tangible concern for the poor and needy of our society. The High school students had set up creative prayer moments which helped all to pray with devotion for our Mother General and all those who are invested with authority to lead and guide that God may direct them in His Light. A short sketch on the life of our Mother Yvonne in DVD composed and presented by Class XI, appended showers of good wishes to our dear Mother General.
