Rose mary gomes student of auxilium dum dum speaks to the provincial chapter members

The cynical world is getting sunk into the darkness of disbelief and lack of faith. The image of human race is that of dark hooded figures of atheists, agnostics and skeptics, shunning the light of heaven, gaining speed in their slow walk towards the state of pre apocalypse. It is a state where false gods like money and pleasure are placed above all and any light of God is too blinding for their eyes.

Our aim as a Salesian Institution for education, is to the young people march with single candles lit with the flame of faith restoring life in the lifeless world. Our belief stands firm that we can heal the world by touching others with the soft glow of Jesus' light shining through these young people.

Being young students in today's world where faith is challenged every minute, we Auxilians are growing in the blessing of being nurtured with the Word of God. Our souls are being shielded with the Beatitudes of Christ being imbibed in us, in all that we do. The school and our hearts resound with the prayers and hymns conducted in the assembly, commencing each day in the remembrance of Our Omnipotent Father, our Messiah Jesus Christ and our Most Clement Mother, invoking all heavens with its angels and saints to praise them along with us.

Throughout each scholastic year, as the catholic students are given the opportunity to strengthen the faith that we were born into, the non-catholic students are given equal chances to learn a fresh about the greatness of our Jesus Christ. Its not a religion being imposed, but a relationship being built, between young minds and Christ and Mother Mary, who are our guides in life.

It is through the enthusiasm reflected in the voluntary initiative taken by students to actively participate in the sharing of the teachings of Jesus among each other that show the true picture of carrying out Jesus's Mission of spreading the Good News.

Being a catholic institution, we stand as an epitome of Soldiers of Christ.

In our struggle for survival in goodness, against all evil forces of temptation and sin, we iconise our patron saints. Commemorating St. Mary Mazzarello, we learn to live in the joy of our most loving God, inspite of the hardships that the world throws at us, emerging victorious in the tests and trials of life.

From the life of Laura Vicuna we learn the ultimate value of sacrifice for our loved ones, preserving the purity in our hearts.

The exemplary works of our founding father, St. John Bosco, teach us the value of a life of loving kindness and utmost care for others.

The lives of each of the saints inspire us to get closer to God, following their path of evangelisation.

The dramatisation of miracles and parables every month, inspire the students to closely study the Gospel of the Lord. Enactment of incidents and teachings from the life of Jesus, help in the formation of young minds becoming discovering enough to demarcate between the good and the evil.

Catholic students are brought closer to Jesus, making our faith in Him concrete through retreats and prayer moments. Spending a day in the remembrance and praise of God, or in prayer in the quietness of the chapel, deepens our relationship with God. Active participation in youth movements like YCS (Young Catholic Students Movement) and class prayer groups help us to not only pray alone but also praise together and share our testimonies of experiencing God's touch in our personal lives.

The practice of Christ's teaching, the new commandment of loving our neighbours as ourselves is reflected in our actions and words, we are inspired to share with our peers about our Holy Father and other ecclesiastical values that simplify our faith, After fourteen years of fruitful education, not only about the worldly matters, but also about spiritual nourishment, an Auxilian stands proud and ready to face the world and live an exemplary life of love, peace, purity and joy, upholding her virtues and knowledge.
