The Mazzarello Home, a boarding for school children, comes under Arch Diocese of Calcutta. It was part of the Salesian Fathers. At the invitation of the Salesian fathers to take care of the boarding children, Mother Provincial Sr. Genevieve Battigelli the first provincial of Calcutta province sent Sr. Elisabeth Minj on a mission. Unfortunately she could not arrive at the destination to take up her new assignment due to a tragic accident on the way on 17th June, 1988. So Sr. Catherine Das and Sr. Mary Ekka were sent to take care of the boarding children.
